ProteoNic
ProteoNic was incorporated in 2004 as a spin-out of the Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. The company focuses on protein expression (production). In the manufacturing process of proteins, ProteoNic's field of expertise pertains to the upstream, bulk production process, specifically optimizing mRNA translation, resulting in increased volume of bulk product.
ProteoNic's mission is to enable its customers (in a wide range of the protein-based industry) to achieve significantly higher yields, improvement of product quality, manufacturing flexibility and of the economic feasibility of developing novel products, ultimating resulting in lower production costs. ProteoNic will license its technology to its customers, creating a continuous revenue stream from up front milestones and royalty payments. The protected technology will be licensed widely, as it is applicable in a variety of markets where the protein level determines the cost or quality of the end product. Main markets identified are the biopharmaceutical enzymes and the agricultural industry. Additional players in other applications like cosmetics, personal care and nutraceuticals will follow. |
